Department of Sociology
University of California, Santa Barbara
Assistant Professor of Sociology at George Gwinnett College
I am a first-year graduate student at UC Santa Barbara pursuing a PhD in sociology. I research race and ethnicity, culture, power, and media. Specifically interested in exploring whiteness, racial images in the media, and reality television. I completed my undergraduate degree at Emory University, with a double major in sociology and educational studies.
Currently, I am working on a research project examining racism and antiracism in broadcast media with an emphasis on reality television.
Aside from my academic work, I write short online editorials covering topics of race and gender in the media.
