Chris Severen is a PhD Student at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He is pursuing his dissertation through the Department of Economics and the Bren School of Environmental Management, completing a special emphasis Economics and Environmental Management. His research focuses on understanding the frictions that limit technology adaptation. Particular topics of interest include urban development and the environment. Methodologically, Chris seeks to broaden the bridges tying together theoretical and empirical work through the use of state-of-the-art estimation strategies and structural econometric models that include spatial considerations.
Christopher is an Economist in the Research Department of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia. He continues to do research in urban and environmental economics.
