Hung Kit (William) Chiu

Hung Kit (William) Chiu is a Ph.D. student in the Department of Economics at UC Santa Barbara. He is broadly interested in labor economics, urban economics, and the economics of education. He seeks to answer research questions using large-scale datasets. His current project uses data at the Census block group level to investigate how crime shapes within-city migration decisions.
Prior to UCSB, he worked as a research professional at the Booth School of Business. He holds an M.A. in the Social Sciences from the University of Chicago and a B.S. in Mathematics and Economics from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology.
